Back-to-School. . . really!!

Here we are once again wondering where summer went! Below are some dates that you will need to know about before school starts.

Open registration for classes

Junior High and High School

 

Girls softball practice start August 12 at 9:00 am

All players need to have a physical before you can play

Coach Preston will let you know your practice schedule

 

Seniors interested in taking Dual Credit English

Last dates to take the Compass Test before school starts

August 2 and 6

 

First day of school**

Early Out - 12:35

 

Junior High boys will co-op with Pattonsburg this year for football

I will post game dates later

 

**Parents - The first day of school your student(s) will be bringing home papers for you to read and sign that will need to be returned to the school. Please make sure you fill these out and send them back as soon as possible.

REMINDER - Hawks Basketball Camp next week

Coach Shipman would like to remind everyone about the basketball camp next week at the school.

 

Gilman City Hawks Basketball Camp

July 22 - 26, 2013

 

Elementary - 9 am to 11 am

High School - 1 pm to 3 pm

Monday through Friday

Cost is $25.00

This includes a camp t-shirt and basketball while supplies last

 

 

It is important that students arrive on time and are picked up on time.

New Websites to look at

I have added a couple of new websites for you to look at. One is Your Free Career Test and the other one is Mapping Your Future. The first one is kind of a fun test to see what kind of career would be best for you based on your interests.  Remember this doesn't mean you have to do what ever the test results are, it just kind of gives you some options to think about. The second one is for both parents and students. It is a little more involved with helpful information about college, finances, and your career.  Take a look at them when you get the time and let me know what you think of them.

Found this website a couple of years ago and saved it. I really like the blue hawk (bottom photo) especially since you can get it in colors and it looks like it has muscles!!  However it's not cheap! Maybe something to think about someday.

Compass Test dates

Seniors if you are interested in taking dual credit English and/or Speech this year you will need to take the Compass Test this summer.  Listed below are the dates that you can take it at NCMC.
